I was thrilled to receive a stall reservation from our new local brewery, Eight Arch Brewing Co. Steve Farrell of Eight Arch started brewing beer in Wimborne earlier this year - brewing beer had not happened in our town for the previous 80 years.
As I happened to be passing Eight Arch HQ on the Stone Lane Industrial estate, I popped in to see Steve. He was in between deliveries and explained a little about the brewing process and his plans for the future.
He told me that his stockist in town is The Taphouse in West Borough where his two main beers can be sampled: Parabolic and Bowstring (names keeping in the arch theme). He offered me a taster of each and, although I'm not a beer drinker, I appreciated the fine flavour, along with the passion he has for his brews and the quality. He also supplies his ale for the production of local steak and ale pies, which are available in Paul Keating's Butchers, East Street.
Steve will be launching his bottled beer at the Wimborne Minster Food & Drink Festival on October 24th, and for those of you who enjoy a quality craft beer I suggest you make a visit to Steve's stall your top priority.
Just over two weeks to go and we already have more stalls than last year's festival!
